Principal Accountabilities:

  • Process Support
    • Printed circuit board assembly process design, characterization, monitoring, control and optimization to maximize efficiencies, minimize waste and maintain quality objectives
    • Analysis of process data for the purposes of developing achievable process improvement goals and providing recommendations for continuous improvement projects
    • Analysis of technology, resource requirements, and facility planning in support of company objectives
    • Monitor and report status of departmental goals in line with company vision
    • Assist with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews and Technology Roadmap planning
    • New equipment research, specification, selection, and purchase
    • Equipment and process training, support and troubleshooting
    • Soldering process equipment and material definition, qualification, control and performance monitoring
    • Interpretation, implementation and maintenance of processes for compliance with SFE and customer quality systems, industry standards and best practices
    • Application of creative problem-solving methods for processes
    • Corrective action evaluation, resolution and solutions for process-based variation
    • New Product Introduction (NPI) process owner
      • Defect review
      • Root-cause corrective action
      • Failure analysis
      • Process feedback


  • Sales/Marketing, Programs and Customer Support
    • Provide technical support and process expertise in support of Programs and Sales/Marketing team members
    • Interface with internal and external customers in supporting the design and development of new processes & products (DFM/NPI)
    • Assists with development and communication of DFM presentation materials.
    • Customer support & communication as pertains to process performance
    • Customer business review participation
    • RFQ review risk analysis

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (or commensurate 8-10 years practical experience)
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • Previous Process Engineering experience
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident) and defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 5 years previous electronics assembly experience
  • 1 year previous Process Engineering experience
  • Understanding of printed circuit accreditation programs (NADCAP, AS9100, ISO, etc.) and MIL compliance is highly desired

Minimum Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal/written interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Familiarity with problem solving techniques
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment

Preferred Competencies:

  • A passion for analytical problem solving
