Principal Accountabilities:

  • Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements
  • Provides technical and engineering information by answering questions and prospect requests, proposes customer solutions based on equipment, processes, or use of materials or services
  • Establishes a steady flow of new accounts by researching target markets and segments, identifying potential customers and leading specific capture strategies
  • Provides input to the quoting process, including prospect/customer difficulty and/or opportunity factors
  • Gains customer trust by operating with the highest integrity and clear, candid, timely communication
  • Provides ongoing market intelligence to President, General Manager and Business Development team
  • Prepares new customer reports by gathering and entering information into required forms and/or management systems
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies and trade associations
  • Contributes to team effort by supporting internal needs and external customer support as needed

Minimum Qualifications::

  • B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering) and/or ten or more years of experience in the EMS (electronics manufacturing) industry will be considered.
  • Detailed understanding of new product development stages
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident) and defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sandler Sales Training, MBDi Training or other relationship-based sales training preferred

Minimum Competencies:

  • Direct knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, including surface mount technology, through-hole assembly, electro-mechanical assembly (box build) and testing methods.
  • Direct experience in the development and presentation of written proposals
  • Ability to travel regularly with short notice, and self-manage travel plans
  • Detailed understanding of new product development stages

Preferred Competencies:

  • Ability to “mirror and match” customer characteristics, matching the client preferences for format and content of verbal and written communication
  • Formal and informal presentation skills
